Ujuzi-Tu Field Review
Ujuzi-Tu field test

How this works

You are testing a real marketplace with real money. This explains the site you report through — what to press, what to write, and what happens to it afterwards. Ten minutes to read. Keep it open on your first day.

Two different sites. Don’t mix them up.
ujuzitu.com is the marketplace you are testing — where you sign up, post jobs, pay and sell.
review.ujuzitu.co.tz — this site — is where you report what you found. You will have both open all day.
1

Sign in for the first time

Herbert sends your username and password privately — yours only, never in the group.

The site then asks for two things before it lets you do anything else:

  • A new password. At least eight characters. Something only you know.
  • Your ujuzitu.com email. The exact address you registered with on the marketplace. This lets the site read your real progress from the platform, so work you have genuinely done ticks itself off and you don’t have to.
There is no “forgot password” link. Lose it and you message Herbert for a new one. Nobody can email it to you.
2

Read your four tiles

Across the top of your page are four numbers. They are the whole job at a glance.

Time left
Counts down to your deadline, live. Amber under four hours, red once it passes.
Feedback to go
How many more reports you owe. A target, not a quota — quality beats quantity.
Tasks done
How far through your list you are.
Float left
What remains of your TZS 20,000. It only moves when you log a transaction.

Under them is a line telling you whether you have plenty of time or are running short. Read it — the site works this out from your real deadline, and when time gets tight it tells you which tasks to drop.

3

Work your list

Tasks are grouped by day and time of day. Tick each one as you finish it — it saves immediately, there is no button to press.

Core
Never skip these, even when you are behind. They are the money, the gates and the calls.
Set aside
Greyed out and crossed through. The clock is too tight for them — leave them.
A1, A8, A13…
The area each task belongs to. Use the same code when you report something about it.

Your list is not the same as anyone else’s. It is built from your role that day, your device and your plan.

4

File what you find

The form sits on the right on a laptop, and below your tasks on a phone. Pick the kind first — it changes what the form asks you.

Something is wrong

A fault. You also choose how bad it is, S1 to S4.

This worked well

Use this properly. It tells the developers what they must not break next week. It is worth as much as a bug.

An idea, not a fault

Nothing is broken, but it would be better another way.

How bad is it

S1
I am completely blocked and cannot carry on
S2
Major, but I found a way round it
S3
Minor, or just confusing
S4
Cosmetic — it looks wrong but works

Then three boxes. Answer all three, even briefly:

What I did
Tapped Place order on the cart page
What I expected
The mobile money screen to open
What happened
The button went grey and nothing else happened

Add the page address and, if money was involved, the amount. Then put the screenshot in the WhatsApp group with the same wording — this site cannot take pictures for you.

Copy the site’s exact words when it refuses you or shows an error. “It didn’t work” cannot be fixed. “Withdrawal must be at least TZS 5,000” can.
5

Write down what is not quite a fault

Below the report form is a plain box called Notes & ideas. No format, no codes. Use it for anything that made you pause: a question asked in a backwards order, a word you did not understand, something you expected to find and didn’t.

These get read. Herbert can turn any of them into a proper report later, keeping your words.

6

Log every shilling you move

Every time money actually moves on ujuzitu.com — a top-up, a purchase, a plan, a withdrawal — log it: the amount, what it was for, how you paid, and whether it worked.

This is how we tell a payment that failed from one that silently vanished. It is the most important record you keep.

Spend only the TZS 20,000 float. It is the platform’s money, not yours. Never top up from your own pocket. If you run dry before the last task, say so in the group.
7

Run things again when asked

When developers fix something you reported, it comes back to you in a panel called Run these again, at the top of your page.

The card shows the exact steps you used the first time — what you did, what you expected, what you got — so you do not have to remember. Do it again and answer:

  • It works now — the case closes.
  • Still not right — it goes straight back to the developers with your note, and you may well see it again.

A case can go round more than once. That is normal, not a failure.

Five rules that matter most

  • Use your own phone number and email. Never share a number with another tester — the platform detects it and links the accounts, which breaks the test.
  • Stay on your assigned device and browser. If you check something on a second device, say which.
  • Time anything slow. The verification email, the OTP, the payment, the page. “It took four minutes” is a finding.
  • Screenshot everything, into the group, with the same wording as the report.
  • If you are completely stuck, say so in the group immediately. Do not sit on it until the next checkpoint.

Already known — please don’t report these

Card payment unavailable
Only mobile money is switched on. Not a bug.
Minimum TZS 500
The gateway refuses anything smaller.
Lending and Invest hidden
Deliberately switched off.
Fast payout clearing
Shortened on purpose for the test. Normally three days.

Checking in

At 09:00, 13:00 and 19:00 you will be asked for a status in the group. One line each is plenty:

On block 2, clean.

On block 3, stuck — top-up says pending
since 11:20, screenshot above.

“Nothing wrong” is a useful answer. Silence is not.
